Brazil Honors Author


BRAZIL yesterday appointed Paulo Coelho, the author of one of the world's most read novels, "The Alchemist," as ambassador of the country's pavilion at the World Expo 2010.

The 63-year-old Brazilian novelist will be at the pavilion to talk with fans of the book on June 3, a celebration day of the country at the Expo.

"The Alchemist" has been translated into more than 67 languages, winning the Guinness World Record for most translated book by a living author.
