Bribery blacklist shared by Shanghai, 6 provinces
INDIVIDIALS and companies can check the profile of bribery cases of any other people or firms based in Shanghai and its neighboring six provinces as a shared information network was launched today, the Oriental Morning Post reported.
They must apply to local prosecutors and get approval before gaining access to the records, the newspaper said.
The records will be updated in real time, prosecutors said.
China's Supreme People's Procuratorate launched a nationwide bribery crime record information system in 2006, carrying records of criminal bribery cases in construction, finance, education, medicine and government sourcing.
Local networks covering Shanghai and neighboring provinces of Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Shandong, Anhui and Shandong were launched in October last year for bribery cases concerning major projects.
