Bureau inspects Happy Valley

THE Shanghai Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision yesterday inspected three rides at Happy Valley, the city's biggest amusement park.
Shenzhen-based OCT Group, the park's owner, said it will also carry out emergency inspections after a fatal accident on Tuesday at the Overseas Chinese Town East amusement park in Shenzhen, also owned by the OCT Group. The accident on the "Space Journey" ride killed six and injured at least nine. Group officials said Happy Valley in Shanghai doesn't have such a ride.
