Bus driver beaten in road rage incident
A man assaulted a bus driver after a lane change in Pudong New Area on Tuesday morning, Shanghai Television reported today.
Footage from the bus’ camera showed the car driver first smashed the side window of the bus after it pulled into a bus station. He then ran onto the bus and beat up the 56-year-old driver, Huang Zhiming. Huang sustained several bruises and didn’t fight back, according to the report.
The report said the driver burst into a rage because he had been forced to brake abruptly when Huang changed lanes on Hunan Highway.
"At that time there were two cars about to turn right, Huang told Shanghai Television. “I saw there were no cars on the outside lane and therefore changed the lane. But he (the car driver) thought I changed it on purpose."
Passengers on the bus subdued the man before police arrived at the scene, according to the report.
