MORE than 100 Shanghai buses have been fitted with horn timers limiting beeps to once every 15 seconds. If the trial is successful, more buses will have the devices installed. Bus drivers on four city routes are testing the timers, and any driver who deliberately honks the horn in a non-emergency faces a fine of 200 yuan (US$29.30).
