Business attire based on traditional qipao

THE 16th Greater Donghua Fashion Week ended on Friday with a fashion show of women's business wear designed based on qipao at the Raffles City shopping mall in Changning District to promote Chinese costume culture.

Designers f Rom Donghua University said their designs all had basic elements of qipao but adopted changes to make them more comfortable and more suitable for modern life including the workplace.

Liu Chunhong, vice president of Donghua University, said the show had well displayed both features of Shanghai-style qipao and creativity of designers.
