Cabbie crushed by van driver in street quarrel

A taxi driver was killed this morning when he quarreled with a van driver who rolled over him at a crossroad in downtown Changning District.
The van driver has been taken away by police for questioning.
The incident happened at about 10:50am at the intersection of Tianshan Road and Furongjiang Road, said a witness who saw the taxi chasing the van.
When the red light stopped all the vehicles, the cabbie came out of his car and began to argue with the van driver, the unnamed witness said.
However, when the traffic light turned green, the van knocked down the cabbie and rolled over him. Witnesses said the van did not stop until it moved about 10 meters away.
Some witnesses said the two quarreled over a slight scratch before the tragedy happened. Police are looking into the case.
