Caribbean character

THE Caribbean Community Pavilion celebrates Pavilion Day today with entertainment and parades, showcasing the theme "Many Islands, Different Experiences."

The Caribbean Community, or CARICOM, is a regional organization of 15 Caribbean nations and dependencies for economic cooperation. The secretariat is based in Georgetown, Guyana.

The pavilion in Zone C displays the natural landscape, tourist attractions and economic achievements of the members. It creates a rich Caribbean ambience of tropical scenery, birds and wildlife, a busy modern port, comfortable cities, delicate handicrafts and children's bright smiles.

Events include exuberant Junkanoo parades by Bahamians.
