Check your tickets
VISITORS can check if their tickets are fakes at the Ticket Handling booths at the Expo entrances. A fake ticket was detected by a ticket machine on Tuesday when the bearer tried to enter the site.
The Expo organizers said the ticket was simply printed without the embedded electronic chip and police are investigating. Every Expo ticket uses nine anti-forgery technologies developed by the Shanghai Banknote Printing and Minting Plant and have an electronic chip imbedded.
To do you own checking, the surface of the Expo ticket should have a distinctive feeling and the colors on the edges of the ticket will change when it is turned over.
The Expo organizers remind visitors not to buy tickets from any non-official outlets. Expo tickets are available at selling points at every entrance to the site and four official ticket agents - China Mobile, China Telecom, Bank of Communication and China Post.
