City drive to attract overseas talent

SHANGHAI will unveil its own scheme to attract overseas senior professionals to propel the city's social and economic development, as part of a national campaign to lure 1,000 overseas talents.

Nine local companies have been included into the national program as bases to train and recruit such talents, today's Shanghai Morning Post reported, quoting city government officials.

The companies include the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd.

Shanghai is drafting its own response to the national program, the government said. A total of 61 overseas professionals have been recruited to work in Shanghai since last year.
