City establishes student creativity base

Shanghai has established a cultural innovation and start-up base on Thursday at Donghua University.
It will help nurture design and other creative businesses, said officials.
Eighteen colleges, including Fudan, Jiao Tong, Tongji and Donghua universities, and four companies, including the Lingang Economic Development (Group) Co, will work together to train professionals in cultural innovation in Shanghai and build up a cluster community for creative start-ups, said officials.
A 2,100-square-meter start-up incubator building is under construction at Dognhua. Students’ studios will open there in the autumn, said officials.
