City works to reduce number of 鈥榖lack cabs鈥
In an effort to reduce the number of ‘black cabs’ operating on city streets, the violations of 2,000 individuals have been entered into the Shanghai Public Credit Information Service Platform.
The platform was created to make it easier for government administrative departments, social organizations and registered credit service companies to check the credit records of individuals and businesses.
Cai Jingyan, captain of the city’s traffic law enforcement team, said more people may be dissuaded from operating a black cab if they know it can affect future chances of securing a bank loan or credit card.
The Shanghai Economy and Informatization Commission established the platform.
