Classic films to be screened at SIFF

THE coming 20th Shanghai International Film Festival, to be running from June 17 to 26, will show classic films for local movie buffs.

The first batch of classics announced to be screened during the film fest include the historical film "The Battleship Potemkin" (1925), biopic film "Caravaggio" (1986), fantasy thriller "Destiny" (1921) and drama film "Tokyo Drifter" (1966).

All of the movies are critically acclaimed for their profound influence on the world cinema particularly in cinematography and film aesthetics.
