Coli bugs found in fast food
Chain restaurants including Ajisen Ramen, Bifengtang, Xibei and Laowang have been warned by city food watchdogs for unhygienic practices.
Bowls and plates at the Laohumin Road outlet of Japanese-style fast-food chain Ajisen Ramen were found with coli group bacteria. The restaurant has been given a warning and ordered to improve the situation.
The Kongjiang Road outlet of Cantonese chain restaurant Bifengtang was given a warning by the Yangpu market watchdog after bowls which the store said had been disinfected and were ready to be used were found to contain coli group bacteria, a strict red flag.
The Shanghai Fashion Center outlet of Xibei Restaurant, a traditional northwestern restaurant, was warned by the same watchdog for the same reason.
A soup bowl at the Handan Road outlet of Laowang hotpot failed the same test.
