College student probed for infanticide

A first-year student of Ouhua Vocational College in suburban Fengxian District allegedly dumped her newborn baby in a trash bin in her dormitory toilet and the baby was found dead yesterday morning.
The student was then sent to a hospital after her teacher found she was very weak. The college said they had no idea who was the baby's father.
Fengxian police are now probing the case because the student may have committed the crime of infanticide.
