A man was detained yesterday for allegedly attempting to steal a computer from a police station in Waigaoqiao Port, police said. The suspect, surnamed Xu, is an electronics engineer who was hired to repair the alert system in the office. Officers saw the theft and seized Xu before he could leave the building with the computer, police said.
