Conjoined twin girls discharged

A pair of conjoined twin girls was discharged from the Children’s Hospital of Fudan University this morning after a successful separation surgery on June 9.

The twins, who were born on March 17 at a county hospital in Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, were sent to the hospital three days later for treatment. They were connected by soft tissues of the hips, lower part of the spines and rectums, and had one anus.

Doctors said the girls were recovering well. The elder sister was 4.6 kilogram and the younger one is 4.8 kilogram.
