THE Pudong New Area will launch the city's first Shopping Talent Contest, which will award winners 80,000 yuan (US$12,642), and hold drawings for free iPhones to attract tourists and boost buying during the upcoming Shanghai Tourism Festival.
Contestants in two-person shopping teams will get 10,000 yuan to shop in Pudong for a day.
To apply, people must write a travel guide about shopping in Pudong. Ten teams will complete in the final contest. Wednesday is the deadline for entries and the shopping is October 2 and 3. Visit http://www.lvmama.com/zt/promo/pudong/# for the rules, in Chinese.
To win the competition, the contestants must impress the judges with their unique understanding of beauty, according to the rule.
