Cops catch accidental toy thief

A Food delivery man has been detained for stealing’ packages, Shanghai police said.
The thefts took place in a residential complex on Langao Road, Putuo District in the middle of July.
Suspect Zhao, 31, who worked for a BBQ restaurant, has admitted to taking several packages after realizing they were stacked in the hall of a residential building overnight.
Police confirmed that anyone can enter the building and there is only security on duty during the day.
Zhao claimed that he stole a package the first time he delivered food there. Later he stole two or three at a time.
He said he threw away all the contents because they were things like children’s toys and books that he didn’t need.
Zhao said he came to Shanghai to work just last month.
Police said he had no prior criminal record.
Though the value of the stolen packages was only a few hundred yuan, police said he could still face criminal charges.
