Costume drama, compared to China's 'The Count of Monte Cristo', to air
THE highly-anticipated costume drama "Nirvana In Fire," which is based on the hit online novel "Langya List" will air on Dragon TV on Saturday evening.
The series is compared to China's "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Netizens. It tells a story of revenge, tactics and brotherhood.
The series held a premiere of a condensed version today at Palace IMAX Cinema.
The visual artistry, spectacular war battle scenes and exquisite ancient Chinese costumes in the epic series received hailed from local fans.
Producer Hou Hongliang, whose credits include "Battle of Changsha" and "All Quiet In Beijing" said that it is the first time for him to produce an costume drama with distinctive Chinese flavor.
Mainland actor Hu Ge, who plays the leading role in the series said that it is a challenge for him to depict a character who has a lot of lines and delicate emotional changes.
