Couple detained for selling fake luxury handbags

SHANGHAI police raided a store that sold counterfeit LV, Gucci and Prada handbags, detained two suspects and confiscated goods valued at about 31 million yuan (US$5 million).
Minhang District police said yesterday the couple rented the store in the City God Temple marketplace to sell fake luxury brand bags.
Police got a tip-off in late December and raided the shop on January 24. They seized 4,127 counterfeit luxury handbags.
The couple is now in police custody waiting for arraignment.
