Court discipline official accused in prostitution scandal

ONE more official has been accused of being involved in a prostitution scandal -- a disciplinary official with the Shanghai Higher People's Court, according to the 21st Century Business Herald.

The official, Ni Zhengwen, is accused of being among four judges and judicial officials who sought prostitution services at Hengshan Resort hotel in the Pudong New Area on June 9, an accusation made public by a whistleblower.

The report said Ni is the deputy director of the discipline inspection team and inspection office of the higher court. It said Ni was photographed in a video along with three other judges and officials entering the hotel's lift.

The Shanghai Disciplinary Commission has named only one of the judges, Chen Xueming, who is president of the higher court's No. 1 Civil Court.

The whistleblower's video, uploaded on Thursday, also named judge Zhao Minghua, vice president of the higher court's No. 1 Civil Court, whom the whistleblower accused of manipulating the verdict of a case he lost.
