Crafting artworks
FOLK handicrafts on display in Xinchang Town in the Pudong New Area yesterday. These artworks will also be seen at the 2012 Shanghai Peach Blossom Festival, which begins on Sunday and runs until April 25.
The festival is expected to draw large number of visitors at five sites - Datuan, Nanhui, Xinchang, Binhai and Heqing peach blossom gardens. The peach blossom festival is opening on the latest date in its 23-year history because the trees are coming into flower later this year due to continuous rain in February and the long, overcast winter, the organizer explained. - Liu Ying
