Crash involving Metro shuttle bus leaves 1 dead, another injured

A Metro shuttle bus knocked down two pedestrians near Yishan Road this morning, killing 1 and injuring the other, xinmin.cn reported today.
The crash took place at 8:30am when the free shuttle bus, running between Metro Line 9's Caohejing Hi-tech Park and Hechuan Road stations, ran into the victims. The shuttle service was launched to help transport commuters affected by a renovation project, which had caused a temporary closure of the Caohejing Hi-tech Park station.
The male passenger was pronounced dead in hospital while the other victim, a female, is still being treated, the report said.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
