Crossover exhibition themed on 'Shawn the Sheep' raises curtain
A crossover and creative art exhibition themed on the hit British film and animated series "Shawn the Sheep" raised its curtain today at CapitaLand Hongkou Plaza.
The exhibition titled "Young In China" is a program of the 2015 UK-China Year of Cultural Exchange and the ongoing Shanghai Tourism Festival. It will run till October 18.
A total of 56 sculpture artworks created by both Chinese and British artists, designers and celebrities from sports and entertainment fields are put on display.
All of the artworks are inspired by the cute cartoon image of Shawn the sheep.
Visitors can also participate in interactive art creation games of painting and building blocks during the exhibition.
Nick Marchand, an official with the Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy said that he was very happy to take his daughter to the premiere of the film.
"The reason why the film is so special is that it captures two very important things - British humor and British creativity," said Marchand.
Charity auction will also be hosted for some of the artworks. Proceeds will be donated to charity programs for autistic children and kids of migrant workers.
