Customs goes paperless

A pilot program of paperless clearance for imports and exports will be carried out in 12 cities around China from August 1 to cut declaration costs and improve efficiency, General Administration of Customs announced yesterday.
Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou and eight other cities are among the first to try speedier paperless clearance.
