Cyclist killed by car as he tried to cross road

A Shanghai cyclist was crushed to death by a car early this morning in downtown Putuo District, according to news website xinmin.cn.
The car was traveling on Xincun Road when a man was crossing the road on a bike. The driver tried to stop the car but failed, witnesses said.
The man was hit in the head and the right front of the car was damaged in the collision.
The man was pronounced dead on the spot with fatal head injury. Police are still investigating the accident.
