DNA tests find 5 more people killed in fire
THE death toll of Jing'an District high-rise fire on Monday was revised to 58 from 53 by Shanghai police last night after DNA tests, Information Office of Shanghai Municipality said on its Website early this morning.
Among them, 22 are men and 36 are women. After the fire, Shanghai's Longhua Funeral House received 53 remains, but DNA tests confirmed there were 58 killed in the fire.
Jing'an District said it has received reports of 56 missing people after the fire.
The authorities are conducting more DNA tests to match victims with family members.
