Dangerous goods transport violations fall
SHANGHAI Traffic Law Enforcement Team said today they have handled 373 traffic violation cases involving the transportation of dangerous goods so far this year – a 10 percent decrease year on year.
During crackdowns officials found some transport operators do not equip the vehicles with GPS as required. Or in some cases the records on the GPS did not reflect the actual routes taken by the vehicles.
Officials said the real-time supervision systems will be alerted once vehicles carrying dangerous or chemical goods take wrong routes or park at restricted areas.
Violators will be fined more than 100,000 yuan if caught three times, the traffic authority said.
