Death toll grows from collision of bus, truck

THE death toll of a two-vehicle collision on Monday night has reached two after another woman worker died yesterday morning in a Shanghai hospital.
A company bus and a trailer truck collided late on Monday night on a remote road in Pudong New Area, killing one woman worker on the spot and sending 42 coworkers to hospital.
Seventeenth workers who suffered lesser injuries were discharged from hospital yesterday.
There were 43 workers on the bus of Omron (Shanghai) Co Ltd as they were going home after work, Pudong police said. The company had rented the bus.
The accident happened about 8:50pm on Pudong's Shangchuan Road.
Witnesses said the bus hit the rear end of the truck as it was trying to pass, and the bus was severely damaged.
