Deranged Fudan student stabs schoolmate

SHANGHAI Fudan University said the young man who stabbed a girl student repeatedly early this morning was its student and he has a serious mental problem.
The school had asked his parents to take him to a mental hospital after several rounds of psychological counseling on the campus failed, it said.
The wounded student is now in stable condition, school authorities said.
Police said the attack was likely triggered by their broken relationship. They did not reveal the identity of the two students.
