Diners fall sick after eating at Japanese restaurant

At least 11 customers felt sick after eating at Rongxinguan No. 1 Japanese restaurant in Changning District, Shanghai Morning Post said today.
The restaurant said it would reimburse customers for medical expenses and the loss of working time, according to the report.
Several customers suffered from vomiting, diarrhea and some even had blood in their stool after eating in the restaurant, the paper said.
The district’s quality watchdog said it had received at least six complaints about the restaurant since August 22 and had launched an investigation.
Rongxinguan No. 1 has a seafood buffet for 350 yuan (US$54.75) per person. It also has another outlet, Rongxinguan No 2, in the same building.
"The sashimi tasted fresh, however that night my husband had a stomachache, diarrhea and a fever," a customer surnamed Lin told the paper. "At first I thought he might have caught a cold, but I later learned six friends who had eaten with us at the restaurant said they had also suffered stomachache and vomiting."
Lin told the paper four of her friends were diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis.
On dianping.com, a famous restaurant review website, at least 10 netizens had written comments complaining about sickness after eating in the restaurant since August 22.
