Dispensers are now in good voice

PASSENGERS taking the Metro from Shanghai’s three railway stations and two airports are now able to buy tickets through a voice recognition function on ticket dispensers, the Shentong Metro Group has announced.
Those who want a ticket can simply speak the name of their destination station or ticket price to the dispenser.
English is not supported, the Metro operator added.
The new ticket dispensers were first used at Shanghai South Railway Station as a trial project in January this year.
The ticket dispensers also support mobile payment method.
The Metro operator will put more voice recognition dispensers in stations close to tourism attractions.
The mobile payment method will also gradually be installed in all dispensers.
