Drenching downpours hit city today
THE city woke up to heavy rains this morning with thunders roaring on the skies, forecasters said.
The rain is likely to increase this evening and the wet condition will continue into tomorrow morning.
A yellow lightning alert was issued at 5:55am by the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau, forecasting some thundershowers to be dumped in most of the city. A brief strong rainfall of 15 to 25 millimeters in an hour is also expected in part areas.
The mercury today will not change much and mainly range between 22 and 27 degrees Celsius. But the rain will cool down the city tomorrow with the high dropping by 3 degrees.
Skies will clear up later tomorrow and remain cloudy through Thursday, whose high will bounce back to 27 degrees. Another rainfall is expected Thursday night, followed by a dry and warmer weekend.
