Drive to protect coastal ecology

OVER 2,000 people, including 211 from Shanghai, have joined a campaign to help safeguard the ecology of China's 32,000 kilometers of coastline and endorse Expo Shanghai's green theme.
The recruiting campaign, initiated by Cheung Kong Business School Alumni Association and Sanya, Hainan Province-based Blue Ribbon Ocean Protection Association, aims to recruit 32,000 people, or one per kilometer, to safeguard China's shore.
Stand-up comedian Zhou Libo joined the campaign in Shanghai yesterday on its 14-city recruiting drive.
