Drug dealer executed
A man was executed today for selling and trafficking drugs and possessing illegal firearms by the Shanghai Rail Transport Intermediate People's Court.
Chen Wei, a Sichuan Province native, was caught carrying 1,959.65 grams of drugs by the traffic police on a train to the city in September 2008.
Police later found three guns with 16 bullets together with 166.18 grams of drugs in the apartment rented by Chen and his girl friend.
His girlfriend was sentenced to five years in prison. Three cohorts face prison terms ranging from nine years to life, while Zeng Guoxiong, who sold drugs to Chen, had his death penalty reprieved.
