Drunken man kills mahjong parlor owner in quarrel
A 39-year-old man was stabbed to death this noon by a drunken man following a quarrel in a mahjong parlor in Shanghai's Yangpu District.
The tragedy happened around 1:30pm when the 40-something attacker, reeking alcohol, entered the house and shout loudly.
The victim surnamed Zhou, who owned the mahjong parlor, tried to stop the unwelcome visitor but only irritated him, some witnesses said.
The two started a quarrel and soon fought each other. The drunken man took out a fruit knife and stabbed Zhou in the belly. Zhou fell to the ground and went into a coma.
Zhou, a native from Jiangsu Province, was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead there.
Police caught the killer on the spot and are investigating the case.
