Duty starts to rotate in Africa Pavilion
THE Africa Joint Pavilion started the "Rotating Director" system today. All the 42 countries and the African Union in the pavilion will dispatch an official as the pavilion's rotating director.
Each director on duty will be in charge of liaison, coordination, conference organizing and VIP reception for five days. They will also try to solve all problems in the pavilion.
A 1-metre long gold-plated scepter, representing the power of the rotating director, was handed over to Sagar Traore from Senegal today. She will be the director of the pavilion till May 5.
"We bring our mineral, agricultural products, seafood as well as our culture here," said Traore. "And we hope the Expo can bring more investment to Africa from the other parts of the world."
On May 1, the Africa Pavilion welcomed more than 69,000 visitors, accounting for about 30 percent of all Expo visitors yesterday.
