East China Normal University launches program to jointly educate top students with science institutes

East China Normal University signed contracts today with four institutes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to jointly educate top science students. Most of them are expected to pursue postgraduate degrees directly after undergraduate study without taking the national entrance exam.
From next semester, the university will select 25 to 30 freshmen for biology, physics, chemistry and microelectronics respectively each year to form the elite classes.
They will enjoy scholarships over 7,000 yuan per person a year on average, which is higher than those for other students, and receive more chances of oversea exchanges.
