Elevated road crashes rise 75 percent in heat
DAILY car accidents on local elevated roads rose by 75 percent in July compared with previous months amid soaring temperatures, said the Shanghai Construction Commission yesterday.
Most of the increase is connected with breakdowns and vehicle malfunctions that were triggered by hot weather, said the commission, the city's traffic watchdog.
