Ex chairman of Lianhua Supermarket sentenced to 18 years for corruption

WANG Zongnan, the former general manager of Shanghai Friendship (Group) Co and chairman of Lianhua Supermarket Holdings Co. was sentenced to 18 years in jail by a local court for bribery and embezzlement.
Shanghai No. 2 Intermediate People's Court announced the verdict this morning.
The court said Wang had taken bribes of nearly 2.7 million yuan and conspired with others to embezzle 195 million yuan.
