Expats get city benefits
A TOTAL of 243 expats have received Expo work permits, allowing them to work here and draw the same city social security and benefits as locals.
Many are pavilion directors, coordinators and chefs from 30 countries, including Britain, France, and India, said Sun Hande, director of the Shanghai Human Resources and Social Security Bureau's expat career center.
The largest group, with more than 90 staff members, is from Germany.
The bureau has set up a service window inside the Expo administration center to accept permit applications for arriving foreign Expo staff, Mondays through Saturdays.
