A visitor looks at a painting exploring ancient Chinese myths at Shanghai Chinese Painting Academy.
Titled “Creating the World — Literary and Artistic Works on Chinese Creation Myths,” 50 paintings —
from canvas and ink-wash to sculpture and lacquer — are now on display at the academy. Last summer,
30 comic books on Chinese myths created by local artists were published.
