Expo offers 'smart classroom' demo

VISITORS at the Pavilion of Future will come across Australia's "smart classroom" featuring interactive electronic whiteboards, mini-computers loaded with learning software, and a range of sophisticated video conference facilities.

About 60 students from Shanghai and Australia will take part in a six-day program to demonstrate the functions of this high-tech classroom.

The program is a joint product of Shanghai Education Commission and its counterpart in Victoria, Australia.

Most schools in Vitoria have adopted high-tech classrooms. Some officials from Shanghai Education Commission visited the smart classroom yesterday to get experiences for their plan to upgrade local classrooms in the near future.
