Extra seats on suburban subway lines

SHANGHAI'S subway operator will refurbish some suburban trains to add more seats for passengers.
This will make longer journeys more comfortable for riders, said Ying Minghong, president of Shentong Metro Co. Not all lines will benefit from the revamp, said Ying.
Security measures will also be stepped up during the 184-day World Expo. Shanghai subway police will employ more than 570 X-ray machines and police dogs.
