FOUR mouse lemurs brought from France began meeting visitors at Shanghai Zoo yesterday, following two months in quarantine This is the first time the species has been kept in China, officials said.
Native to Madagascar, its body looks like that of a mouse, but it has a fox-like tail. The nocturnal animals are excellent at jumping, leaping between trees in the wild.
Officials reminded visitors taking photographs to turn off the flash as the lemurs are afraid of bright lights.
