Fake designer sent home
A FOREIGN woman's application for a work visa was turned down by the Shanghai Exit-Entry Administration recently because she had pretended to be an interior designer, the administration said today.
The woman came to China with a travel visa after being laid off in her own country, and took odd jobs in the city, the city's exit-entry authority said. She sought a foreign employment permit but pretended to be an interior designer.
A police officer became suspicious about the woman during an interview because she seemed extremely nervous.
The woman couldn't answer questions about interior designing and could not draw a small sketch when asked. Under questioning she admitted she had tried to obtain residency through fraud.
The woman has been ordered to leave the country.
