Families of dead workers accept compensation

THE families of the four workers killed last week when two cranes crashed in Jiading District have received total compensation of 2.18 million yuan (US$31,9059), local quality authorities said yesterday.
Authorities did not say how the money was divided between the families. Wenzhou Heli Construction Machinery Co, which was in charge of the construction, was responsible for paying the compensation, according to the Shanghai Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision. Officials said the families were satisfied with the compensation and had left Shanghai to return to their hometowns.
