Famous Peking Opera performer holds art salon with young locals

Famous Peking Opera performer Wang Peiyu, known for her deep and mellow voice to depict laosheng (old male) role in Peking Opera held an art salon with the city's young white-collar workers.
Wang introduced the basic performing styles of Peking Opera and interacted with young people in several excerpts.
As a follower of the Yu School of vocal and performing style, founded by Yu Shuyan, Wang said that next April she will present two solo concerts of classic Peking Opera excerpts at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center. Ticket sales has already started.
The concerts will be held in an experimental and light-hearted style. Audience can vote for the repertoire. It will also include the elements of workshop. Wang will give interpretation of the episodes and characters to shorten the psychological distance between the age-old art form and young generation of people.
