Father sought after toddler found dead

POLICE are looking to speak to a young father whose two-year-old daughter was found dead at their home on Monday morning.

According to witnesses, the toddler was discovered hanging from a rope at the family home on Laiyang Road in the Pudong New Area.

Her 28-year-old father, surnamed Lu, has gone missing. Lu was reported to be the only person at home with the girl around the time she died.

"She was a lovely little girl," said one neighbor. "We all liked her very much."

Lu, a local resident, is believed to have suffered from serious depression and had stayed at home for the past four months on extended sick leave.

According to neighbors, Lu's parents always followed him when he took strolls around the community.

"In recent days he seemed quite emotional," said a neighbor.

The girl's mother was not at home at the time, having had to attend an urgent event, according to neighbors.

Lu's parents refused to talk about their son, who is reported to have left his mobile phone at home when he left.

However, some residents and staff claimed that they saw Lu driving his car out of the community the previous day.

A security guard at the community said that Lu looked quite normal as he drove away in his car.
